“The canoe — just the name conjures up thoughts of adventure, freedom, and wonder. Stepping into a canoe is like stepping into a time machine, and the paddler can’t help but feel a certain kinship with the Native Americans and early explorers who once plied our waterways in a dug-out or birch bark watercraft.”
